Timarete Kinberg 1866
Type species: Cirratulus anchylochaetus Schmarda 1861
Diagnosis of Timarete : Cirratulid with wedge-shaped prostomium, and nearly round body cross-section, with segments distinct. Grooved tentacular filaments arising in 2 groups from dorsum of 2 or more anterior chaetigers, posterior to chaetiger 1. Branchiae occurring singly or with several filaments per parapodium, becoming more dorsal in origin in middle body segments, with origin sometimes forming dorsolateral bulge. Chaetae capillaries and acicular spines. [includes Ambo fide Blake]
