Type species: Perinereis novae-hollandiae Kinberg 1866
Diagnosis of Perinereis : Nereidid with group VI paragnaths as transverse bars. Paragnaths conical elsewhere. Notopodial chaetae homogomph spinigers; neuropodial chaetae homogomph and heterogomph spinigers and heterogomph falcigers.
