Lepidonotus Leach 1816
Type species: Aphrodita squamata Linnaeus 1767
Diagnosis of Lepidonotus : Polynoid with 12 pairs of elytra, more or less of same size (on 2,4,5,7,etc,21,23), 26 segments, median and lateral antennae inserted at same level. Notopodia vestigial, notochaetae lacking or short spiny capillaries. Neuropodia large, neurochaetae stout, long, with subdistal spines, sometimes with bidentate tips.
