  Name used as: Record for New Zealand by:  Ehlers 1907 (pages 6, illus. no figures.)
  Record locality: Moeraki; Dunedin
  Remarks: No detail other than locations and "in r�hre von Lanice" Probably these were amongst Benham material sent to Ehlers. Seems to be first to transfer to Lepidasthenia?

  Record locality: Masked Island in Carnley Harbour of Auckland Island
  Remarks: One specimen. Brief colour notes given. Found in Thelepus plagiostoma tube. Contrary to Barnich & Fiege, this specimen could not be that examined by Monro (which was in bmh by 1907 as BMNH 1907.5.1.48 whereas this specimen was collected late November 1907 and still in Benham's possession 1n 1950)

  Remarks: Has long comment on L. irregularis Ehlers (p291), short on Polynoe aucklandica Schmarda (tentative synonymy & seniority but specm lost)

  Record locality: Dunedin
  Remarks: Lepidastheniella new genus. Has figures of L. comma embedded in the description of L. phillippensis. The L. comma are Benham's donated, collected from Dunedin and held in BMNH (see Benham 1950)

  Name used as: New entity (basionym) by:  Benham 1950 (pages 9-11, illus. Fig.2.)
  Record locality: Auckland Island; Dunedin
  Remarks: For Auckland Islands specimens and Monro 1924 figure (Benham's from Dunedin). Synonymised by Barnich & Fiege 2003 to L. comma, the mainland species. Looks like only the Monro MNH specimens still exist.
