Neodexiospira of Family Serpulidae

Neodexiospira Pillae 1970

Type species: Spirorbis formosus Bush 1904

Diagnosis of Neodexiospira : Spirorbine with dextral-coiled tube, thorax with 3 chaetigers. Sickle-shaped chaetae absent in the thorax. Collar chaetae without a fin-like basal process. Development of embryos takes place in operculum. Dorsal ends of collar are fused together over the dorsal thoracic wall. [That is: as in Dexiospira but for fusion of collar]

Source: Modified from Pillai, T. G. 1970: Studies on a collection of Spirorbids from Ceylon, together with a critical review and revision of Spirorbid systematics, and an account of their phylogeny and zoogeography. Ceylon Journal of Science 8: 100-172.

Remarks: Pillai gives a full diagnosis on p143, not where he establishes genus
