Original name (Basionym): Polydora websteri Hartman 1943
Described from: USA (Atlantic coast)
Type locality: Milford Harbour, Connecticut
Remarks: Described from worms found in oysters (species unstated). See also redescription of Radashevsky. Hartman was proposing a replacement name for P. caeca Webster, a homonym. However subsequently an ICZN decision has deemed Polydora websteri is a different species.
