Neoleprea of Family Terebellidae

Neoleprea Hessle 1917

Type species: Leprea streptochaeta Ehlers 1897

Diagnosis of Neoleprea : Amphitritine terebellid [branchiae present and branched; tentacular membrane compact] with two or three pairs of branched branchiae; lateral lobes absent. Notopodia present from segment 3 (2nd branchiferous). Seventeen to 40 thoracic chaetigers. Nephridial papillae present on segments 3 to 9. [cf Terebella with notopodia from segment 4 (= chaetiger 1)]
