Terebella Linnaeus 1767
Type species: Terebella lapidaria Linnaeus 1767
Diagnosis of Terebella : Amphitritine terebellid [branchiae present and branched; tentacular membrane compact] with 3 pairs of dichotomously branched branchiae from segment 2. Lateral lobes absent. Notopodia from segment 4 (last branchiferous = chaetiger 1); notochaetae distally serrated along one margin. Neuropodia from chaetiger 2, with uncini initially arranged in single rows, then double rows from uncinigerous segment 7, then single rows in abdomen. Nephridial papillae from segment 3.
