 Habitat: Intertidal. Subtidal. Rocky shore. Open beaches. Epifaunal. Depth range: 0-40 (m). Salinity regime: Marine only. Microhabitat:  Low tide rock crevices and algal holdfasts. Tube: None.
Occurrence:  Consistently occurring, sometimes common. Density: 80 (m2).
Distribution in NZ: New Zealand wide.
 Feeding guild: Surface omnivore.
 Diagnosis:  Genus Perinereis in Family Nereididae.
Proboscis area VI (top lateral, nearest to head) paragnath two curved bars. Area V (top middle, nearest to head) with triangular group of three conicals, antero-median the largest. Area I (top middle, nearest to jaws) with a single conical paragnath. Colour: Light green head. Anterior dorsal light green to yellow, becoming more brown posteriorly, with white parapodial bases and yellow-white midline pigment. Maximum size: 60 mm total length, 4 mm body width.
 Notable aspect: Area I, V, and especially area VI paragnath pattern.
 Comparisons:  A small species for a Perinereis, not readily confused with others if paragnaths can be examined.
 Taxonomy:  Perinereis camiguinoides was first described from Juan Fernandez Island, offshore from Chile. It has not been recorded from Australia.
 Distribution: Chile, New Zealand.
 Biology: Also subtidal in holdfasts, etc. Metamorphoses and swarms, breeds over a long period from spring to autumn, and is surprisingly very common amongst nereids caught at light traps.
