The spionid genera Aonidella, Laonice, and Spiophanes are reviewed with descriptions presented of species collected from the western North Atlantic. Type specimens of A. dayi Maciolek in Lopez-Jamar are reported and described for the first time. Aonidella cirrobranchiata (Day) is reviewed, transferred from Prionospio, and redescribed. Two new species in the genera Laonice and Spiophanes are described, both from deep-water. A tabular comparison of the morphology of the known species of Laonice and Spiophanes is presented, including results of an examination of the type materials for L. antarcticae Hartman, L. japonicus (Moore), L. sarsi Söderström, and L. bahusiensis Söderström.
